David Cressman

David Cressman is self-taught and started painting in 2005 following a visit to the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art. There he was inspired by the French Impressionist collection, particularly the works of Claude Monet. This influence of the early Impressionist painters can be seen in his work, in which he seeks to capture light and atmospheric effects in landscape using loose expressive brushwork. His painting is emerging in the background of a full-time job; he paints on a daily basis as often as possible.

David has won many awards, including first place in the July 2014 Crossroads Art Center All-Media Juried Show, Jury’s Top 50 Award Salon International at Greenhouse Gallery in April 2011, Chairman’s Favourite Painting Award at Coventry Art Consortium 10th Anniversary Exhibition in 2010, and Jury’s Fav15% Award winner in the FASO BoldBrush online contest.
