Artist Statement

I was raised near the west end of Richmond, Virginia in Manakin-Sabot. My interest in art began at an early age, winning in elementary school contests and the local county fair by the 3rd grade. I have no formal art training, as it was not taught in our schools, I garnered my knowledge from an inherent inner gift of God. I've always used my artistic talent through creative projects and business enterprises I've undertaken over the years. Natural talent has carried me until five years ago in 2019 when I began watching tutorials online. Since retiring, my preferred mediums include pencil, oil, and acrylics, with many of my works in landscapes, nature, and still life. I enjoy traditional, impressionism, realism, and occasionally abstract.
