Artist Statement:

My work is greatly influenced by nature as well as by prominent and lesser-known artists, past and present. I am deeply grateful to all those influences that have provided me so much inspiration. What began in my own work as an exploration of the vessel form has over the years evolved into work that is non-functional and more sculptural in nature yet still owes much to more traditional forms. 

The pieces shown in this exhibit reflect that love of nature and remind me of the colors along the Mediterranean, the sun washed reds, whites and pale aquas that you find in coastal area villages. Clay is everywhere and it is part of us; we are of this earth and all the elements found in nature.
