Ruth is originally from upstate NY. She has a degree in Art Education and a Master’s degree in painting and printmaking from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, NY.  Ruth has been painting and creating for over 30 years.

Ruth has always painted quickly and “shocks” the canvas with a black line that defines the relationships between the shapes and colors of what she sees.  These gestural lines that generate energy and emotion have always been a part of the construction of her work. 

Ruth lives in Richmond with her family and teaches art in Chesterfield County.  Her passion for painting brings her peace and purpose.
