After the loss of my mother, I found myself questioning my own ability to become a mother. I looked to other walks of life to understand the preparation and time that goes into preparing oneself for such an undertaking, revealing the fragility and delicate nature inherent in such an experience.

Artist Statement:

Adriane Honerbrink is a multidisciplinary artist, deeply passionate about ceramics, photography, and the spiritual dimensions of the natural world. Holding a Master of Fine Arts degree with an emphasis in Ceramics from the University of Mississippi, a Bachelor's degree in Art and Marine Biology from the University of Alaska, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Still Photography from the Brooks Institute of Photography, Adriane's artistic journey is rooted in a profound connection to both the visual arts and the environment. Leveraging her expertise in ceramic hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques, Adriane seeks to encapsulate nature's transformative power and the resilience of the human spirit, especially in the face of loss. In crafting these intricate and thought-provoking works, Adriane imbues them with a sense of stillness and balance, even within the inherent imbalance, tension, and weight of life's experiences. Her artistic endeavors reflect a spiritual journey, inspired by her mother's unwavering faith and a profound desire to connect with something greater than herself. Through her creations, Adriane aspires to inspire curiosity, awe, and comfort, fostering a space for shared experiences and spiritual exploration.
